Discovery Class - Winter 2012	Join us on a journey of Discovery. In this five week class we will explore the trail markers that make up our core values at Monte Vista Chapel. We will also explore how MVC can partner with you in your spiritual journey. Everyone should exit this class with a good idea of what a solid next step in their journey is. So whether you are exploring what our church has to offer, want to learn what this spiritual journey looks like, or are interested in becoming a member of MVC, this class is for you. How to Read the Bible	How to Read the Bible – Led by Darren Rodrigues Understanding the Bible isn’t for the few, the gifted, or the scholarly. It is meant to be read and understood by everyone. This 6 week class will bring some essential insights into Scripture that may help clear up misconceptions, grasp the meaning of Scripture, and make application for life today. Fee:$10.00 • 6:45pm

Lectio Divina	Lectio Divina: A Practice of Divine Reading – Led by Gina Yarborough Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian spiritual practice. The essential steps are Lectio are read, meditate, pray, and contemplate Scripture as the living Word of God. This 6 week class offers an introduction to the practice. The time will be split between discussing different aspects of Lectio and actually engaging scripture in this Holy Spirit led way. Fee: Free • 6:45pm

Moms Club C.A.F.E. WINTER/SPRING 2012	is designed for mothers of young children: ages infant through Kindergarten. Monthly club events and weekly small groups led by mentor moms offer opportunities to discover the joys of joining a community of women who are in this same season of mothering. This January @ Moms Club C.A.F.E., we continue our study: Meet the Sistas – Finding New Branches on Your Family Tree!... Life is meant to be lived together in community. Becoming a mom allows us to see our great need for one another. God’s story is written for us so that we can live a life of meaning and purpose. There is always room in the family for another “sista” and joining us in CAFÉ each week will give you the chance to get to know your family! FEE: $15 per semester - participant fee $30 per semester - childcare fee KICKOFF IS SEPTEMBER 15th!
Mosaic:NT	The New Testament of the Bible begins with God himself walking among us and continues through the beginning chapters of the First Century Church. This 6 week class will be a historical, theological, and literary overview of the New Testament. Participation in Mosiac:OT would be helpful but not necessary to take this class. Fee: $10.00 • Time: 9:15am

Parenting	Parenting by Paul Trip Video Series – Led by Aimee Silva Whether your child is under 1 or ready to leave for college, the teaching and table discussions in this 12 week class will give you important insights into growing the heart of a child. When the heart of a child grows the behavioral change that we hope to see as parents will last. Getting to the Heart of Parenting is a DVD series by Paul Tripp and is directed towards the hearts of the parents and their need for Christ, while also equipping them with practical steps in parenting their children. Fee: FREE • 6:45pm

Street Reach	Street Reach is an outreach provided by Monte Vista Chapel whose purpose is to bring hope and encouragement to the homeless community in Turlock through hope in Jesus Christ. When we meet with the homeless on the street, we attempt to assist them with some of their most basic needs.

The Case for Christ	Case for Christ – Led by Darren Rodrigues How reliable is the Bible? Does evidence for Jesus exist outside of Scripture? Is there reason to believe that the resurrection was an actual event? This 6 week, DVD driven class by Journalist Lee Strobel will address these questions and more like them. Fee: $10.00 • 6:45pm

Wednesday Mornings: Judges Study (for women)	“Prone to Wander, Lord I feel it!” All of us were created to live in the loving presence of God. Yet we often find ourselves wandering from Him in pursuit of “lesser loves” that wind up leaving us empty, disappointed, or trapped. In spite of our wandering, God is forever faithful. When we return to Him we discover His love has no limits! That was the story of Israel in the Book of Judges and it is our story as well. This 12 week class will work to orient our hearts towards the One who loves us the most. FEE: $10 • class begins January 11, 2012
